This ministry is such a blessing! Words are not sufficient. I was listening to the show today (8/14/19) as is my habit, and I heard Chad say that you desire questions. One that I have been pondering here lately concerns preaching. A place that calls itself a Baptist church I used to frequent is pretty dogmatic in their belief about how preaching should look, to the point that they will typically dismiss anyone that does anything other than go up to the pulpit with a Bible and the Spirit. If there are any notes or slides or any such thing, they claim it is not the foolishness of preaching per 1 Cor 1:21, nor the demonstration of the Spirit and of power of 1 Cor 2:4. Even though Joe clearly knows his stuff and seldom even seems to refer to notes if one watches him give a sermon on YouTube, the fact that he might occasionally do so renders him not called to preach, etc. in their eyes. It was stuff like this (They naturally were KJV only and OSAS as well.) that led me to sadly have to leave this place almost two years ago now after having unsuccessfully struggled for a few years to find ways to try to bring about change there. However, there are a lot of good people in it still, but whenever I have tried to witness to some of them, if I point to Blessed Hope / Good Fight / Joe as a resource about the errors of things like KJV onlyism and OSAS, this preaching thing is often a stumbling block to these folks. So I am interested in thinking about how one would prove from the Scriptures the proper way that Christ, Paul, Peter, etc. preached, as it seems that it could be argued that they never had physical notes on their person.
I do not have a social media footprint, so I went with this method. Please let me know if you would rather me call or pursue some other means with any future questions I might submit.
Prayers and thanks to God for you.
Hi Jon. Thanks for the question. Your best bet is to use our Contact Form on this site to submit a question. It will get to the right person. God bless.
I love your ministry. Thirty Five years of corporate sales has created a slow death. I would love to work for Good Fight Ministries. I love Christ with all my heart and I am wasting away in this sales position. I live in NC. Are you hiring? Is there any possibility to create a branch in NC. All I can say is I will fight for Jesus Christ. Starting with my own sin. This country is about to explode and it is Dark vs Light. Again I would love to work for your organization. Please let me know. All I can offer is vision, passion and work ethic. More than ever the gospel needs to be proclaimed.
